My 3 months working for HEALTHLine were the best of all my nursing experiences gained here in Australia. The team was always helpful going out of their way when necessary. The staff was polite at all times and really supportive, be it either a personal or professional problem. If you were in need of a hug and a box of tissues or just advice or debrief after a shift, someone from the team was always there 24 hrs a day to help out. I never had a problem getting shifts. If I was available to work, the team would do their best at all times to get work for me, even when available shifts were at a lull. Being a backpacker this was particularly important to me as I needed to save money to finish my travels.
I would recommend anyone wanting to do agency nursing to work for HEALTHLine and if I should ever come back to Australia to work they will be who I would want to work for. Thanks guys it was great to work for you all!

I have worked as an external marketing consultant with HEALTHLine Australia for enough years now to observe, in what I consider to be a fairly objective way, the dynamics of the organization, its passions and its people. Here’s what I’ve noticed…
- There’s a master plan here. It doesn’t just exist in someone’s head or on a scrap of paper. It exists in the heart, soul and energy of the people. They’re all driving the same road to the same destination.
- There’s a heap of goodwill here. People work from dawn to dusk – not because they’re horsewhipped, but because they believe in the product – and each other
- There’s an emphasis on collaboration and good ideas here. People are encouraged to brain-storm, workshop, innovate, shine! This is a place where it’s openly acknowledged that several heads are better than one – where the result of that collaborative thinking is discussed, refined, refined some more, trialled and implemented. This is a place where people are encouraged to reason – to solve the problem, address the need, and think outside the square.
